Twelve places to tie up, the bridges between you and each one, and how long the run takes from a Tropic Isle dock.
Tropic Isle sits on the Intracoastal in the southeast corner of Delray Beach, with every canal opening straight onto the waterway and no fixed bridge between a Tropic Isle dock and the ocean. That puts more dock-and-dine restaurants within an hour than almost any neighborhood on the coast: Deck 84 and Atlantic Avenue are 15 minutes north, the Boynton Harbor Marina restaurants 40, Old Key Lime House an hour, and Lake Boca and The Boca Raton 35 minutes south. This is the working list: twelve restaurants with their own dockage, what the dock actually is, the bridges between you and each one with their opening schedules, and realistic cruising times from Tropic Isle. Updated October 17, 2026.

Distances are Intracoastal mile markers from the Tropic Isle canals (about mile 1042). "Idle" assumes no-wake speed the whole way, which the manatee-zone signs require on long stretches in season; "realistic" is the usual mix of slow zones, open water and one or two bridge waits.
| Destination | Distance | All idle | Realistic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deck 84, Delray (Atlantic Ave.) | about 2.5 miles | 25 to 30 minutes | 15 to 25 minutes |
| Prime Catch, Boynton (Woolbright) | about 6 miles | about 1 hour | 30 to 45 minutes |
| Two Georges / Banana Boat, Boynton | about 7 miles | about 1 hour 10 | 35 to 50 minutes |
| Old Key Lime House, Lantana | about 11 miles | about 1 hour 50 | 50 minutes to 1 hour |
| Boca Landing, Lake Boca | about 6 miles | about 1 hour | 30 to 40 minutes |
| The Cove, Deerfield Beach | about 8 miles | about 1 hour 20 | 40 to 55 minutes |
| Nauti Dawg / Cap's Place, Lighthouse Point | about 11 miles | about 1 hour 50 | 55 minutes to 1 hour 10 |
| Rusty Hook / Houston's, Pompano | about 14 miles | about 2 hours 20 | about 1 hour 15 |
Tropic Isle sits between two inlets. The Boca Inlet is about six miles south, past three opening bridges, and is the usual route for anything that draws water; the South Lake Worth (Boynton) Inlet is about eight miles north and is shallower and rougher on an east wind, best for smaller boats and calm days. Either way there is no fixed bridge between a Tropic Isle dock and the Atlantic, which is the reason the neighborhood's canal lots sell the way they do.
All of this starts with a dock behind the house. Tropic Isle's canals are deep, wide and protected, every lot is on the water, and the Intracoastal is the end of the street; the street-by-street guide explains which canals handle which boats and what each street sold for, and the 3D map shows every home for sale, under contract and sold. If you are weighing Tropic Isle against Delray's other east-side neighborhoods, the Tropic Isle vs. Lake Ida vs. Seagate comparison has the numbers. Ricky lives in Delray, keeps a boat, and will tell you which dock fits which boat before you offer.
Restaurant details, dock policies, bridge schedules and times are as published or reported in 2026 and change; confirm before you go. Nothing here is navigational advice; use current charts and local notices to mariners.
Deck 84 on East Atlantic Avenue is Delray's dock-and-dine restaurant, with about ten first-come slips on the Intracoastal just south of the Atlantic Avenue bridge. The next closest are Prime Catch, Two Georges and Banana Boat in Boynton Beach to the north and Boca Landing on Lake Boca to the south.
About two and a half miles north through the Linton and Atlantic Avenue bridges, 15 to 25 minutes at a realistic mix of speeds and about 25 to 30 minutes at idle the whole way.
Yes. Prime Catch is about six miles north at the Woolbright bridge, and Two Georges and Banana Boat share the Boynton Harbor Marina docks about seven miles north, 35 to 50 minutes from Tropic Isle. Old Key Lime House in Lantana is about an hour.
Either. The Boca Inlet is about six miles south through three opening bridges and is the usual choice for larger boats; the South Lake Worth (Boynton) Inlet is about eight miles north, shallower and rougher on an east wind. There is no fixed bridge between Tropic Isle and the ocean in either direction.
Linton Boulevard opens on the hour and half hour; Atlantic Avenue at quarter past and quarter to; George Bush Boulevard and the Boynton and Lantana Ocean Avenue bridges on the hour and half hour. Heading south, Spanish River and Palmetto Park open on the hour and half hour and Camino Real on the hour, twenty past and twenty to. Confirm with the tender on VHF 09.
Cap's Place in Lighthouse Point, a 1928 speakeasy on an island, is reached by the restaurant's own free launch from a shoreside lot, about an hour south of Tropic Isle by boat to the launch. Private boats do not tie up at the restaurant itself.
Most diner docks are free for the length of your meal and first-come: Deck 84, Banana Boat, Old Key Lime House, Two Georges and The Cove. Marina slips at PORT 32 Lighthouse Point and Sands Harbor may charge transient rates. Call ahead on weekends.
